European ET Test Challenge
Recently, the European IPC (EIPC) created a future technology board to challenge Electrical Test System manufacturer. The board they came up with is shown in Figure 1.

70 mil Gird solution: Even with a 70 mil universal grid, there were just not enough pins available to hit all the targets. Figure 2 below shows (in red) the targets for which no test pins were available. This is a density issue.

50 mil Solution: Luther & Malezer, with a 50 mil universal grid, was the only equipment supplier to successfully test this challenge board in one pass. The 50 mil solution is shown in figure 3 below.:

Notice in the 50 mil solution above that there is very little deflection of pins when compared to the 70 mil solution. What does this mean for you?
